Since 2006, Andy Khawaja has served as founding CEO of Allied Wallet, an award-winning digital payment solutions company. Over the years, Andy Khawaja has used his company’s success to support various organizations, including Wounded Warrior Project.

In its efforts to assist military veterans and their families, Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) relies on the support of volunteers and donors. One way the organization raises money is through events such as its Carry Forward 5K.

Founded in 2018, WWP’s Carry Forward 5K is a unique fundraiser and fitness challenge that gives participants the opportunity to test their strength and stamina while raising money for the nation’s military community. Carry Forward events consist of a 5K challenge during which participants can carry a flag, a weight, or another participant.

Currently, Carry Forward 5Ks are held in four cities across the nation. In addition to San Diego and Nashville, the events are held in San Antonio and Jacksonville, Florida, between late August and early November. The final Carry Forward of 2019 will take place November 9 in Jacksonville.

Funds raised through Carry Forward events directly benefit WWP programs and services. This includes the group’s Warrior Care Network, which is advancing treatment for veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and other combat-related conditions.
